THINK! Thursdays launches at Denmark House

“Countdown to Copenhagen” is the theme to launch THINK! Thursdays, a series of thought-provoking conversations inspired by short presentations from guest speakers at Denmark House. Beginning on 12 November, THINK! Thursdays will run every Thursday from 5-7 pm throughout the year and presentations will be based on the theme “Countdown to Copenhagen: COP15”.

The launch event is free and open to members and non-members. Participants can enjoy a complimentary beverage and light snacks while discussing issues surrounding the Copenhagen summit COP15; the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place 7-18 December in Copenhagen in anticipation of the 2012 Kyoto protocol expiration.

The inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival takes a digital approach

The first ever Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) kicks off on Thursday, October 29 and runs through Sunday, November 1. A partnership between Tribeca Enterprises and Qatar Museums Authority, DTFF is modelled on New York’s unique, community-based approach to engaging audiences, and a significant portion of that effort revolves around web-based activation.
DTFF will showcase films from around the world, including Middle Eastern titles such as Elia Suleman’s The Time That Remains and International fare such as Australian director Warwick Thornton’s Samson and Delilah, The Coen brothers’ A Serious Man, and acclaimed director Mira Nair’s Amelia.

Sydney agency Dubz.tv has developed and implemented a digital marketing strategy with the aim of drawing audiences all year round – not just for the festival. Read more…

LTB Launch to attract a star-studded crowd

The exclusive LTB Australian store Launch Event will be held on Wednesday 28th October 2009 at 7pm, for the first time in Australia the complete cutting edge LTB range will be showcased in Fashion Parade. Hosted by MC Amber Renae a Project Runway contestant and well-known fashion stylist, as well as ten of the Project Runway models showing off LTB’s latest designs. With special guest DJ Havana Brown, who has fast become an international success, supporting acts such as The Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears on their tours.

Guests in attendance include Miss Universe Australia, Rachel Finch and Miss Poland Australia, Dominica Lipinski along with many well known music and fashion industry faces. Photo opportunities with celebrity guests and VIP’s will be available on the night.

LTB Jeans is opening its doors to Melbourne with the unveiling of its flagship store at Chadstone Shopping Centre. The LTB store will feature both men’s and women’s designs, including their internationally recognised premium denim jeans, street wear apparel, complete with accessories and shoes.

This year we welcome seminal French touch outfit Cassius to the betterdays stage, with their devastating ‘Dex n FX show’ across 2 mixers, 4 turntables and EFX machines.  Fred Falke also joins the party, who is currently blazing a streak of world-beating form, having re-rubbed Little Boots, La Roux, Annie and Gossip to superb effect in the last 12 months.  Hed Kandi’s Tara McDonald rounds out the international guests and is set to perform a live PA, having earned her stripes cutting vocals with David Guetta, Armand van Helden and Axwell, among many others. As a single mother, looking after Jake as well as her daughter Jessie, Ingrid has faced some very trying times. For Ingrid, Jake’s autism is the hardest to manage, due to the challenging behaviours that Jake exhibits. Read more…
