Accenture drops Tiger Woods sponsorship – Tiger Woods Accenture Press Release

December 14th, 2009 No comments

Dec. 13, 2009 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced that it will not continue its sponsorship agreement with Tiger Woods.

For the past six years, Accenture and Tiger Woods have had a very successful sponsorship arrangement and his achievements on the golf course have been a powerful metaphor for business success in Accenture’s advertising.  However, given the circumstances of the last two weeks, after careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising.  Accenture said that it wishes only the best for Tiger Woods and his family.

Accenture will continue to leverage its “High Performance Business” strategy and “High Performance Delivered” positioning in the marketplace.  The company will immediately transition to a new advertising campaign, with a major effort scheduled to launch later in 2010. Read more…

Tiger Woods taking hiatus from golf – Tiger Woods Press Release

December 14th, 2009 No comments

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

Tiger Woods has had an incredibly tough two weeks, but according to an astrologer, his rough ride won’t be over for another two years.

December 14th, 2009 No comments

World-famous golfer Tiger Woods hit the headlines in early December when his wife, Elin Nordegren was accused of attacking him in his car.

It now turns out that Tiger has had more than a dozen mistresses and may also have had a love child, which tarnishes his carefully crafted, master sportsman and family man image.

Astrologer Elizabeth Ball of http://www.itsinthestarsonline.com explains why Tiger is going through such a troublesome phase from an astrology point of view.

“Tiger is born under Sun in Capricorn, which makes him ambitious, goal-oriented, controlling and incredibly hard-working. He has been playing and perfecting his golf since he was a tiny boy,” said Elizabeth Ball. Read more…

Enjoy the taste of Summer – Mouth Watering Mangoes a Must This Summer

December 14th, 2009 No comments

Nothing heralds summer quite like the taste of a sweet, juicy Australian mango. Mouth-watering mangoes are now in-store and offer a myriad of culinary uses.

The Australian way of life makes the most out of our environment. We take advantage of our beautiful beaches, great weather and fantastic fresh produce. There is no better treat in summer than a sweet and juicy mango,” says Bruce ‘Hoppo’ Hopkins, Mango ambassador and Bondi Rescue Lifeguard.

Hoppo says mangoes are the perfect accompaniment to any meal. Enjoy them on their own; diced in a tangy, colourful salsa (and serve with BBQ fish); or toss chunks into crisp, green salads.”

Trevor Dunmall, Industry Development Manager of the Australian Mango Industry Association, says that fruit quality will be excellent this summer. Read more…

Gov 2.0 Taskforce Announces MashupAustralia Contest Winners

December 14th, 2009 No comments

The Government 2.0 Taskforce announced the winners of the MashupAustralia contest, which asked Australians to combine and add to government datasets to create publicly useable online applications.

The contest, which ran between October 7 and November 13, was designed to help the taskforce demonstrate why open access to Australian government information is good for the economy and society. “Open access” means releasing government information on terms and in formats that permit and enable use and reuse.

Eighty-two entries were received, making the MashupAustralia one of the most successful contests of its type globally and demonstrating the ability for open government data to drive innovation.

A key contributor to its success was a series of “hackfests” which were held during the contest. These “hackfests” bring together online designers, developers and other experts to build applications and mashups in a 24 hour period. The taskforce sponsored one “hackfest” – Govhack held in Canberra – and community groups organised three similar events in Sydney and one in Melbourne. Read more…
