By rights, a night for the men to be acknowledged for their on-field achievements, the red-carpet affair has become better known for the WAGS that accompany them.
This year, with talk of a blue carpet, the Wives and Girlfriends have again called on high end designers and brand name jewellers to help them look like a princess for the paparazzi.
Alex Fevola has chosen jewellery from Temelli Jewellery valued at over $100,000 to complement her stunning royal blue gown and James Temelli said she looked gorgeous.
“Alex is glowing and we wanted to capture and highlight her natural beauty.
“That being said we haven’t over-adorned her in jewels, we’ve picked some pieces that will dazzle the camera and more importantly will make Alex feel a million dollars,” he said.
James Temelli said that some WAGS had a tendency to overkill the look.
“There are some girls that year after year just wear too much or not enough and I’m talking about clothes as well as jewellery.
“There is a fine balance and we spend a lot of time with clients like Alex to go over the design and style of their gown, and to get to know their personality so the look really suits.
“It’s not just about getting the biggest gem around her neck or on her finger – it’s about getting the look perfect for her,” he said.
Alex borrowed from Temelli Jewellery for last year’s Brownlow Awards; a white gold and diamond bangle; white gold, amethyst and diamond drop earrings and the Isa Dora white gold, amethyst and diamond cluster ring, as she wanted a white and purple tone to match the Connie Simonetti gown she wore.
Temelli Jewellery is also The Miss Universe Australia Crown creators, which this year was a 7.4 carat diamond encrusted art deco style piece valued at over $21,000 and which Australian winner Rachael Finch got to keep.
They also created the Australian National Gift “The Temelli Pink Rising” Pendant for The Miss Universe contest, which was donated to the host country, The Bahamas. It was a rare Argyle pink diamond, featuring white diamonds crafted into a stunning white gold pendant and was inspired by Aboriginal artist Anne Kngwarreye and signified the beauty and skilled craftsmanship of Australia to the rest of the world.
