CBA – Commonwealth Bank gets behind youth money management with the launch of online game – design dunlop volleys
Sydney, 10th September 2009: The Commonwealth Bank has launched an interactive online competition aimed at encouraging teens to understand the value of money.
Teens have the chance to design and win their own pair of Dunlop Volleys. As they create their designs (which can be viewed in 3D using Augmented Reality), a virtual dollar value is tied to the graphics they can choose from. With only $100 available for each design the balance is soon chewed up, making them think carefully about the “value” of the outcome.
According to Mark Murray, General Manager Consumer Marketing Commonwealth Bank, building financial skills to manage money amongst young people is an important responsibility of the Commonwealth Bank.
“Getting kids to budget or save is not easy. With this in mind, we’ve developed an online game which reinforces to teens the value of money, while being a lot of fun.
“The website – www.commbank.com.au/pi – features a number of exclusive promotions while providing tips and ideas which will put young Australians ahead with their finances and give them more control of their money.”
The competition is for existing or new customers, aged 14 – 17 years who have, or open, a Youthsaver or Streamline account with the Commonwealth Bank and deposit $10 before Friday 27 September 2009.
More details can be found at: www.commbank.com.au/pi.
