Local Red Hill makeup artist, beauty therapist and business owner, Elisa Lago recently won two top awards at the Melbourne International Beauty Expo.

At only 28 years old, Elisa opened her beauty and day spa, ELSPA in Red Hill, Brisbane four years ago and already has a string of makeup credits to her name including films, TV commercials, theatre, music videos, photo shoots and events.

Elisa competed in and won the top gong at the Melbourne International Beauty Expo for the Broadway Musical Inspired Fantasy category as well as taking the runner-up prize for the Classic Bridal category.

According to the artist, her winning Broadway Musical makeup was inspired by ‘Cats’, which is currently showing at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), in Brisbane.

“I wanted to create an original cat character, a glamorous, sexy, playful and feminine cat who everyone would go wild for when she came out to perform.

“I created ‘Mia the Show Cat’,” she said.

Elisa has won many prizes in her short career including awards from the Brisbane Hair & Beauty Expo where she was awarded for Best Glamour Makeup.
