Lights, camera, fashion! The 2009 Tessuti awards are here. And to celebrate the array of fresh, vibrant and locally grown Sydney talent, Tessuti fabrics is giving one young fashion designer or sewing enthusiast the trip of a lifetime to Paris!
On Wednesday 2nd of September, 2009, fashionistas, young and old, will come together at the hub of fashion creativity, ESMOD Australia, Sydney’s newest fashion college, to find the perfect little black dress.
The Tessuti competition asks entrants to create a little black dress with a vintage flair – the best designer on the evening will win a return trip to Paris to visit the French fashion institute, ESMOD International.
Unlike many other fashion awards for designers and manufacturers, the Tessuti awards aims to ascertain the undiscovered and up and coming talent of young designers and individual talents, bringing the clever creations of ‘home couture’ to the centre stage.
On the evening Judging will commence at 7pm, with a line up of celebrity judges including fashion designers Marnie Skillings, Kym Ellery and bridal couturier Steven Khalil.
Prizes include the following in the Little Black Dress Category:
1. A return trip to Paris supplied by Tessuti Fabrics and a visit to the French fashion institute, ESMOD, France.
2. $200 Tessuti gift voucher
3. $100 Tessuti gift voucher
Prizes include the following in the Smart Day-wear and Evening-wear Categories:
1. Bernina Bernette 92c sewing machine valued at $799, courtesy of Bernina Sewing Centre, Chatswood
2. $200 Tessuti gift voucher
3. $100 Tessuti gift voucher
