Blackmores announced its seventh consecutive year of record profit and revenue, with net profit after tax for the Blackmores group up 9% to $20.8 million for the year ended 30 June 2009.
Highlights for FY09
Net profit of $20.8 million – an increase of 9% on last year
EBIT at $30.3 million, an increase of 12%
Revenue up by 12% to $201.2 million
Earnings per share up 8% to 127.5 cents

Over 118,000 marriages were registered and more than 47,000 divorces were granted in Australia during 2008, according to figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). This is an increase of 2.1% in registered marriages and a 1.6% drop in divorces compared to 2007.
Registered marriages are now at a 20 year high but the crude marriage rate (marriages per 1000 people) has fallen from 7 in 1989 to 5.5 in 2008. For divorces, the 2008 figure is the lowest number of divorces granted in a single year since 1992 and the 2008 crude divorce rate (divorces per 1000 population) of 2.2 is the lowest in the last 20 years. This Draft National Primary Health Care Strategy (the Draft Strategy) provides a road map to guide future policy and practice in primary health care in Australia. It is Australia’s first National Primary Health Care Strategy.
Development of the Draft Strategy, by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, has been assisted by an External Reference Group of primary health care experts chaired by Dr Tony Hobbs and informed by discussion with state and territory health departments. More than 260 submissions were received in response to the Discussion Paper: Towards a National Primary Health Care Strategy, (released for stakeholder consultation in October 2008) have also been used to inform the preparation of the Draft Strategy. www.creditcardfinder.com.au) of over 4,800 consumers has found that nearly 80% thought it unfair the recent series of Reserve Bank cuts to interest rates were not passed on to credit cards by the banks.
